That sounds like a redundant question, considering everyone knows 'what day this is' - that is, it is Christmas Day.
It's the time that has been set aside every year as a holiday to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. It is a day of rejoicing, of happiness and joy.
It is a time of gift-giving. People get so caught up in the celebration with their family, they forget the true meaning of Christmas. It's not that they don't
actually know the true meaning, but material things and ways of the world get in the way.
Can you imagine the excitement in that little barn when Jesus was born that morning so long ago? I can just imagine the love that Mary felt for that baby boy, when he
was born. She knew he wouldn't be hers forever, but he was her first-born, and I know she looked upon his face as the most beautiful baby ever born! But, she knew that, one day, he would
be the world's Saviour. So, don't you know she and Joseph held that baby boy that morning with so much love and admiration, that the thought of losing him broke their hearts.
But, today is a time of rejoicing. His Spirit is within our hearts. He LIVES within each of us, to give us the power to overcome the enemy of the world. So, wherever you are, whatever you are doing today,
take a moment to stop and worship the King. For this is the day that He has made for us within which to rejoice!
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we lift our hearts and lives to you this day. We give you praise and honor. We thank you for the wonderful gift you sent you so many years ago. Help us to be worthy. I give your praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
