Yesterday, Today, Forever!
Our Thoughts:
When we look back on all of our yesterdays, I am sure there are things we'd love to change. Our lives weren't perfect, and there are things we could have done differently to
improve our life. The yesterdays also hold such things as God being 'outlawed' in so many places. God was taken out of the school. There are cases in court now, trying to take 'in God we trust' off our money, and 'under God' out of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Yesterdays hold the abortion laws, same-sex marriages, and other things that touch each of us deeply.
Today is the beginning of a new year. Hopefully, things will be better than in the yesterdays. We can make it better for us individually. Besides making changes in our every day lives, we can make changes in our spiritual life. Peace comes from
knowing God intimately, not just knowing 'of Him'.
Remember, there is no promise of tomorrow. The breath we now breathe could be our last. We have had our yesterdays and today, but tomorrow could never come for some of us. Forever is a long time. What better thing to do this first day of the New Year than
to make sure you are on good terms with the Savior, Jesus Christ! If changes need to be made pertaining to your spiritual life, why not start now? Eternity is coming to each of us at some time. Where we spend it is up to us. So make your choice now and make your
election sure! Get ready to reign with the Lord forever!
God's Thoughts:
2 Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, today is the first day of the rest of our life, a new beginning. Help each of us to know that we are ready to spend eternity with you. We give you praise! In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
