There are so many children without a home. They come from varied ranges - broken homes, or death of parents. Then, there are the children born to unweb mothers that don't think they can keep the
child and raise it properly. So, they give up the child unselfishly, so the child can have the chance at a better life.
I received the sweetest note today from an Internet friend. She was telling me how a particular devotional had ministered to her, since she was a very honored person: she had been adopted at 6 days of age! I told her that her parents were
special: they had wanted her for their daughter. The whole family is special in that God brought them together just for such a time as that! She was given up for adoption, I am sure, to make her life better than it would have been.
If you are a Christian, you, too, are adopted. We are all adopted into the Kingdom of God the moment of rebirth. Just as the adoption of a child brings peace and security and love to that child, the adoption into the God's Kingdom brings His peace and love. It also brings an
assurance that we will live with Him eternally!
God's Thoughts:
Romans 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.[ 8:15 Or adoption] And by him we cry, "Abba,[ 8:15 Aramaic for Father] Father."
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we are so happy to be in the Kingdom of God! Where would we be, had you not sent your Son to shed his blood for all our sin. We give you thanks and praise due your precious name. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
