Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageCall Him Daddy

Our Thoughts:
It often takes a long time for us to understand what a word means to us. This is the case in point with Daddy. Father always seemed so formal and nothing like my Dad. We were
taught to call him Daddy. My husband and I taught our two children to call him Daddy, as well. Daddy has a sense of closeness and familiarity to it. In fact, in the dictionary, daddy is the informal word for father.
Not all men called daddy are actually the biological fathers of the children who call them daddy. Sometimes, a step-father is much closer to a child than the child's on daddy. The child grows up with a step-father living in the house and
is loved by the man. The child learns to call the step-father daddy out of respect, because of the love and closeness felt in the relationship. The child often feels much closer to the step-father than he/she does with their own daddy.
As Christians, we are called 'sons of God' (children of God).[Romans 8:16] Therefore, we have a Heavenly Father who loves us. We should feel the same closeness in the relationship with our Heavenly Father as we do our earthly father. When you have this
closeness in your spiritual life, you know that you are free to call Him Abba, Father - meaning Daddy! Can't you see the love on the face of God when one of His children feels such a love that He looks up as says, "Hello, Daddy"! Have you talked to your
Daddy today?
God's Thoughts:
Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, We give you praise.
. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
