Enduring Through It All

dotOur Thoughts:

War is going on in Iraq. Hopefully, it won't be a long war. But, nevertheless, lives will be lost. Many have been lost due to accidents, and others by combat fire. Some of our soldiers have been taken prisoners of war and humiliated. Life is precious and it seems that the regime in Iraq doesn't see it that way.

The soldiers of America have been sent off to do a job in Iraq. That job is to remove the regime and replace it with a democracy where the people are free. The Christians have banned together to pray for those soldiers for safety on the battlefield. We also need to pray for their peace of mind. It's so easy for the enemy to sneak in and put a stronghold on the minds of people in a battle such as this. This was the case of a disgruntled soldier that threw hand grenades into the tents of his own comrades. But, we've heard that the morale is very high among our soldiers. God can provide the peace and love to these soldiers that they need to keep their sanity in such conditions.

Scripture tells us that, if we endure until the end, we will be saved. To endure means to suffer patiently, without yielding. I can imagine the suffering our soldiers are going through in the conditions they are living and working in Iraq. But prayer and the power of God can keep them through the worse possible conditions.

dotGod's Thoughts:

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

dotOur Cup:

Heavenly Father, the enemy has caused our soldiers to have to endure things that they wouldn't ordinarily have to go through. We pray for their safety and the power to endure whatever they may find themselves in. Strengthen their bodies and minds and give them peace. We give you thanks and praise due your precious name. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
