Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageRejected But Not Forgotten
Our Thoughts:
Many of you have been rejected for one thing or another. Perhaps it was by a former friend who no longer considered your friendship viable. Or, maybe you were rejected for a duty at church that you felt called to do. Maybe you were passed over for a promotion at work for which you were qualified.
Perhaps you found a rejection slip in your mailbox for that manuscript that you had sent in for possible publication. No matter what the rejection was, it stabbed you in your heart, just as though it was a knife. It hurts to be rejected by anyone or for anything.
Remember how Christ was rejected in his own village. He was mocked while he hung on the cross. This was true humilation, worse than any we could ever suffer. He knew the work he had to do to please the Father, and his own objective was to do what the Father said. He bore the shame and humilation afforded him and became our Redeemer.
When you suffer rejection, don't wallow in self-pity. Pick up the pieces and move on. Look to Jesus. He was sent to be our propitiator [ Romans 3:25 ], and to bring us peace that passeth all understanding. [ Phil 4:7 ] Just as those of us that love GOD haven't forgotten Him, neither will He ever forget you!
God's Thoughts:
Luke 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we feel badly when we are rejected. But, we could never feel what Jesus felt, as he was rejected on the cross where He gave His life freely for us. Help us to get victory over any rejection we have endured, and have peace through the love of God. We give you praise and honor and glory due your precious name. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
