Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageGod's Mercies Are Made Known Through Grace
Our Thoughts:
I am sitting here this morning, watching the people of Iraq take down another statue of their leader. They are jubilant, as they tie a rope around his neck, hit at the statue with a sledge hammer, and
try to bring it down.
These people have been in terror for years, under the leadership of this regime. There was no hope of freedom or the ability to live a happy and prosperous life. But, now, as the war goes on, and they feel more liberated, they are ready to
take back their land.
We are not to exalt ourselves. All that is built by man's hands will fall. But, that which is built by God will stand forever. This falling of the regime of Iraq, to me, is a symbolism of that very thing spoken of in the Bible. God is a gracious God, and His mercy does endure
forever. But, we, the people, are to walk in His ways, adhering to His commandments.
And, just as the statue has tumbled on to the ground there in Iraq this morning, the regime is being torn apart. And, if the people, who so desperately want freedom, will turn to the Lord, He will heal their land. It's only through God's mercy and Grace that we, as Americans, have
known the freedom we know today.
God's Thoughts:
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, this is a time of freedom from dictatorship for the people of Iraq. Draw them nearer to you, through the power of the Word. Help them come to know you as their liberator and victory will be theirs. We give you praise and honor and glory due your precious name. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
