Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageGrowing Hurts!
Our Thoughts:
Aches and pains go with growing! My grandson could attest to that tonight. While trying to climb our basement steps, he
lost his footing and fell into the second riser, bruising his right leg very badly. Of course, being nine, he thought he was dying! He sat for the longest crying his eyes out.
Papa then picked him up and brought him upstairs, where he sat with him for awhile. We put an ice pack on his leg to ease the pain. Then I let him sit in my lap for awhile and call
Mom to tell her how bad he was hurt. Pain always asks for sympathy. And, sympathy he got tonight.
Growing in the Lord sometimes hurts as well. Along the way, there will be disappointments. You may not be received by others like you were before you received Christ as your
personal Savior. Talk hurts! People are not always kind in what they say. You will have the enemy telling you that you've botched the situation, so why not just give it up! Oh, it's tempting, at times!
But, never give the enemy the light of day - never listen to what the enemy says! He's only out to steal your salvation! Life may not be all peaches and cream after you're saved, but it sure beats the pits!
Life without God is not at all inviting, after you've found GOD, and let Him into your life!
God's Thoughts:
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we know that the enemy is every where, waiting to gain access to an unsuspecting person. Help us to be able to withstand anything he may send our way. We know, that through the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, the enemy will be overcome. We give you praise. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
