Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageWho Is To Blame?
Our Thoughts:
If you have turned on your television or your radio this past week, then you can't help but know about the power outage in the north east part of the United States.
It was sort of a domino effect, starting in one spot, and jumping to others, until many cities were out of power, including parts of Canada.
If you've tuned in very long, you must have heard the 'blame game'. The mayor of New York City said it had to be the problem of the Canadians. Some thought it was a terrorist act, but the President quickly put that one to rest.
Then, someone suggested Ohio. Do they really know where the problem started or just how it got started? It has been suggested that the power grid (whatever that means) needs a re-overhaul, which should have been done years ago. But, things get put off.
As humans, we don't want to believe a problem is ours. We are always hunting someone on whom to place the blame. Never could it be our fault! It's the same way in our spiritual life; we want to believe all the problems are caused by others.
Surely, in 'our upright condition', we could never be the cause. But, are we really looking at the situation with a clear head? Have we gone to the Lord and asked for the answer?
Do we ever ask God to change us, if we are the problem, or do we continue to go along in our on ways, not realizing we are the problem?
It's so easy to blame everything on someone else and never repent for our failures. It's not shameful to confess that perhaps we are the problem, and ask God to come on the scene. He is more than happy to help us change our ways, our
attitude, and our behavior, so we can become a more effective witness for Him.
God's Thoughts:
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, it's our nature to never want to be wrong. But, many times, we are the problem, and we need help in changing. Teach us to come to you in every situation, confess our faults, and get on the right track. We give you praise. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
