2000 Our Thoughts:
Today we celebrate Memorial Day, which has been set aside as a memorial to all veterans. My husband, among countless others, served in the Vietnam War. Unlike any other war veterans, those guys weren't treated the same, when they returned to the United States. Yet, they fought for their country - some lived and others died, and some were POW's or MIA's, just as it happened in all the other wars. Today honors those along with all the other veterans.
God saved the people out of the land of Egypt. But some didn't believe, and he destroyed them. All those that 'returned from the wars' were likewise saved from destruction, but many will die in their own 'disbelief'. All of us must come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
God's Thoughts:
Jude 1:5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us all today to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus, if we don't know Him. Help us to know, that without you, we are lost. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
