Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageControlling The Kudzu
Our Thoughts:
It used to be that, when you traveled along the roads, you could see beautiful trees and bushes that were native to the surroundings. But, in the past few years, Kudzu has grown to such proportions, that it is beginning to starve off the trees and bushes.
It seems to be taking over the land. Places you would never have believed that Kudzu would grow are now covered with the mysterious growth of leaves. They seem to multiply over night. Roads here in the country that were once pretty are now covered with Kudzu. I noticed Sunday morning just how close Kudzu is getting to our property - too close for comfort!
Sin is like Kudzu. If left un-unattended, Kudzu will grow rapidly. The same is true about sin. If you never repent, and keep on living a sinful life, the sin will take over. The enemy knows how to keep you in a life of sin. If you are unprepared to 'fight the Kudzu' (sin) with the Word, it will
grow like wildfire! If left uncontrolled, sin will kill you, just as the Kudzu squeezes the life out of it's victims.
Why not pull out your 'How to Control Kudzu' (SIN) book - the BIBLE, and brush up on the how's and when's of getting rid of Sin in your life? It's a detailed book just waiting to be opened and discovered!
God's Thoughts:
John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, just as Kudzu has taken over many places, sin has taken over many hearts. Help those deep in sin return to you. Teach them your ways, that may withstand future wiles of the devil. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
