Daily Dose of God's Word
At Barbara's Entourage The Last Day
Our Thoughts:
The ladies of our church gathered at the pastor's home to have brunch. This was our monthly women's luncheon, but we were combining it with the holidays. We gathered one day before the last one of the month and of the year 2003. It was a great gathering, a great meal, and a wonderful
time of fellowship. It was really hard to leave, when it came time.
There are many last days in our lives: the last day of school, the last day before graduation, or the last day in a stay in the hospital or at camp. The state gives us until the last day of the year to get our property taxes paid. There's always a last day that you can pay a payment without a penalty on an account. Many last days!
There's also the last day of the week, of the month, and, then, of the year - the place we are today.
There is a last day in all our lives that we can't skip over. It's appointed unto man a time to die. And we won't know until that moment when that last day is for us. So, we need to make preparations to be ready when it arrives.
We need to make ourselves ready for that approaching day by surrendering ourselves to God, repenting for all our sins, and staying in the Word. The Word gives us power to overcome the enemy so we can make it through to the LAST DAY, when we will be with Him. So, on this last day of the year, make sure you are ready to meet the Savior!
God's Thoughts:
Ecclesiastes 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, we have, once again, come to the end of another year. Hopefully, we have lived for you to the best of our ability, and let your light shine in our lives to others. Help us be ready when it's our time to leave this world. We give you praise! In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
