You Are Unique!

Our Thoughts:

I remember when my children were born. They looked so beautiful to Dad and me! Oh, there were little imperfections that others could see, but, to us, they were the most beautiful children in the world. In our eyes, there was no baby that could have surpassed ours! They were unique to us. By their individual cry, we could have found them in a crowded room, blindfolded! Any of you having children know what I mean.

Going through life, we seem to lose our 'uniqueness', or so we think. We begin to compare ourselves with others. We see the things they have accomplished, and ours seem to be small, in comparison. The enemy begins to whisper in our ears (seems he sits on our shoulder and eavedrops!) that we can never be like them, forget it. He tells us that what we have is the worse of worst - their home, their automobiles, their material wealth makes us feel so low in life. We lose our self-esteem!

What have we forgotten? WHO made us? WHO can count the hairs on our heads? WHO called us out of darkness into his marvelous light? WHO is perfecting us for HIM? Lord God Almighty! Nothing the devil can say to you is of any earthly benefit. He is only trying to upset you, and to get you down, and depressed, so that you might lose your faith in God. But, wait a minute! When did we have to give credence to anything the devil said? He has only come to try and steal our glory, and steal he will, if you give him half a chance! He starts with your thoughts and your mind. He gets you to thinking on those things that are NOT true. God says for us to 'think on these things' - true, honest,just,pure,lovely,things of good report, virture, - and if there be ANY PRAISE think on these things. Phil 4:8

Now, if he can't get your thoughts, he gets into your eyes. You start comparing yourself with that beautiful individual, or the one who has a big home, or new car. He gets you to thinking that you have to be so-so, are you aren't appreciated. You need to have a big home like the others, or, otherwise, you aren't in the clique! You have to drive a new car every year, or something is wrong! Let me ask you this: WHO is paying the bills - you are the devil? WHO is living with you - your spouse or the devil? Don't give the creature a thought! Let God's thoughts reign in your heart and soul, and come from your tongue. When the devil begins to ride you, remind him who has the authority - and it's not him. By the power of God within you, you can control that rascal! The Holy Spirit is there to lead, guide, and direct you. And, besides, God isn't looking for the beauty that's only skin deep. Nor, is he looking for someone with material wealth. He's looking for the person who will follow Him, wholeheartedly, and will put his trust in God completely, regardless of the circumstances in our life.

So, this year - whole your chin up. When the thoughts begin to appear in your mind, clear them out with the Word! Greater is HE That is within you, than he that is in the world! I John 4:4 The devil has his tricks, but YOU have GOD and the WORD!

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, so many lose sight of who they are in YOU, because the devil presses them so hard. Give them the power to withstand his wiles, to give him the boot, when he comes calling. We give you praise! In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
