Our Thoughts:

How do you answer things that are asked of you? What do you say when you hear funny comments? Often times, we speak without thinking of how things sound when they come from our mouths. We get excited and out it comes! That's the trick of the devil. He wants you to speak words of failure because he wants you to fail. He listens intently to what you say, ready to pounce on anything that isn't fruitful for your soul.

Out of our mouths come: 'that tickles me to death', 'that just kills me', 'I'm dying to tell you something', 'that makes me sick' - all words that aren't building you up, but bringing you down. All the devil hears is 'death'. Just as we are what we eat, so we are what we speak. The Bible says 'out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth spesaks'. Instead of speaking life to ourselves, we continually speak death.

We know the tongue can get us into trouble quickly! It often precedes our mind, in that we speak without thinking of the consequences of our words. We make people angry, hurt feelings unintentionally, and often hurt our relationship with others, simply because we don't think. Oh, you say, 'but I don't mince words' ----- good and well, IF you think before you react. And, okay, IF you ask God to give you what you need to speak at any given time.

God's Thoughts:

James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, we've all said things that aren't beneficial to us. Those things drag us down instead of building us up. Help us to change, to become ore life you, to speak the Word which is life, instead of speaking worldly things, which are death. We give you praise! In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
