Daily Dose of God's Word
At Barbara's Entourage This World Is Not My Home
Our Thoughts:
This is a great world to live in. Despite all the bad things going on, or all the hardships it seems we have to endure, it's still wonderful.
After all, this world is only what we make it. Most of us would like to have a care-free world, one in which we could live without terrorism, racism, or any of the other 'isms' of life. But, Adam
and Eve put an end to that glorious kind of world. We have to suffer in this world, and most of the time, at the hands of others.
But, thank goodness, we aren't 'of this world' - but we are 'in this world'. So, we must live day to day, trying to make it a better place to live. Our Christian outlook on life,
our understanding God's Word and His promises to His people should make us happy to live at this time. After all, we are here to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and His redeeming power and saving Grace!
If each individual on earth could know the joys of living for God, the benefits it brings here on earth, perhaps we would be living in a much better world today. But, that's not to be; not all will listen to
the calling of Jesus, or to His Disciples sharing the Word. There's no want of inner peace for them. They 'think' they have that peace, doing things against a loving God whom they don't understand.
But, thank the Lord, we Christians are citizens of two worlds - the earthly one, and our heavenly home! And, one of these days, we will go to be with our Lord and Saviour and these earthly troubles will
only be memories - perhaps memories that will no longer concern us, for we will be too busy serving the Lord!!
God's Thoughts:
1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us to hold to your promises and trust that one day we will be with you. Help us cast our cares on you so the world's burdens won't tear us down. We give you thanks and praise. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
