God is a God of love. And we are supposed to be like Him. That means we are to love even our enemies [Matt. 5:44].
That's hard for many to accept, that we have to love even those people that would do us harm.
A small child is so trusting, they love everyone. They have innocent hearts, and see others just as innocent through their eyes. They get upset when you discipline them; yet,
five minutes later, they're saying, "Mommie, I love you!" And they mean it with all their heart.
We have to be able to love like a child. To do this, we have to walk in the Spirit. To walk in the Spirit, we have to follow after God every minute of every day.
We will always have the fleshly nature within us, but, being born again, we have the desire to act under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit. And the FIRST FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT listed is
'love'.
The purest love of all was the love that GOD had for us, when he sent his only begotten Son to earth, to die for our sins. None of us will ever match this kind of love.

Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us to fight the nature of the old man, and become renewed in the Spirit daily. Teach us to love as you love. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
