Daily Dose of God's Word At
Barbara's EntourageThe People Speak - A Vote For Right
Our Thoughts:
Tuesday, the United States held the election for the 44th President. It was a hard-fought campaign, with both candidates giving
their all to win this election. Then, the people went to the polls and spoke. When the dust cleared, and all votes were tallied, President Bush had won re-election for his second term.
I believe the people voted their convictions. They saw, in President Bush, a willingness to let God reign in his life, even when some thought it was wrong to incorporate GOD
into the plans of the United States. They saw a President who was willing to take heat for his remark that he prayed every morning, and asked God for wisdom and guidance in his life and in his job as
President. In other words, we voted for a man who was unashamed to stand up and say that God was foremost in his life, the one that he woke up with in the morning, and went to bed with at night.
God is God in every aspect of his life.
Many hits were made toward the President because of his belief that God answers prayer. I heard, on two different occasions, from two different people, that he 'prays to God and God answers'. This remark
was made with a sarcastic tone, and a laugh afterwards. It really turned me off to lots of the media, which has been anything but impartial towards the President.
The election is over, the people have spoken, and we have a God-fearing President in the White House for four more years. Each of us needs to continue to pray for our President, that God will lead, guide,
and direct his paths each day of this Presidency. Pray that the enemies' action is thwarted, each time he rears his ugly head! We need a President who is able to do his job for the nation without problems arising because
they don't like his reliance on faith in God.
God's Thoughts:
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, without you in our lives, we are a nation on a downward spiral. We give thanks for our new President who was willing to go out on the limb and give you praise in his life. He has never failed to uphold your name in whatever decisions he has to make, often taking flack from those who don't understand. We give you praise. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
