Too Young To Fly Our Thoughts:
My husband invited me out on the patio early this morning to see something. What I
saw was a baby blue jay. The little bird wasn't much bigger than a large thimble (for those of you who sew). He was sitting upright,
looking around, and, occasionally, opening his little beak, as if to call his Mom. Apparently, he has fallen out of the nest, or perhaps,
as my husband said, 'tried to fly too young'.
Many times, we try to 'sprout wings' too early. Young people get all excited, wanting to be older than they really are.
They get with crowds that do things that they shouldn't, trying to be grownups. They get in trouble, just as this little bird. They
sometimes leave the nest (home) too early, and can't make it in the big world.
There is one whom we can trust, who will keep us under his wings, protect us from the world. He'll be there through all the
trials and tribulations, all the hurts and pains, even those we have when we are 'too young to fly'. His name is Jesus.
God's Thoughts:
Proverbs 23:5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
Psalms 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, sometimes we want to experience life too quickly, or too much. Help us to place our trust
fully in you, the one who can guide us on the straight and narrow path. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
