Going Through June 13,
2000 Our Thoughts:
We all get down in the valley, and it seems like we'll stay there forever.
But we need to remember that we are only 'passing through'. It's not a life-long thing to be in the valley, unless we want to stay there.
There is always a way out.
We don't need to take on the left-behind mentality. When the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they never went without. Their clothes and shoes never wore out, and they always
had food. But they weren't obedient. God showed them mercy; yet they didn't respond to his generosity. They were disobedient. But we CAN come out of our 'wilderness', our 'valley', if only we set our
hearts and minds on Christ, never to forget that HE is the one that gives us unmerited love, but he wants obedience. We want to 'go through' - not stay in our problem areas, so we follow after JESUS.
God's Thoughts:
Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Nehemiah 9:21 Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, help us to remember it's only You that can give us grace to sustain us, mercy to revive us. Help us to be obedient always. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
