Innocence Of A Child
Our Thoughts:
Little children can be so innocent in things they say! Today, we had our children and their
families home for celebrating Independence Day. One of my daughter's sons wanted to ride the bike another one was riding. To get the older one to
give up the bike, my husband asked him, if he'd let the other one ride. He promised him he'd fix the seat on another one that was larger, to the height he
needed, if he'd let his little brother ride. So he said, "Okay".
On the way to the basement, he wanted Papa to carry him in his arms. So Papa relented, and
picked him up. This grandson put his arms around his Papa's neck, laid his head up against his chest, and started patting his back with that small hand. This
has become a ritual with him, when you pick him up. Papa was moved by this, and said, "You must be very sleepy." And he said, "No, Papa, I'm just worn out".
I laughed when my husband told me this. This child comes up with some things that would make you think he is grown beyond his years!! His vocabulary is twice
what it should be for his age as well. He's even began to use the word 'angry' instead of mad! To me, this shows development beyond his small age!
The scripture says we are to become as 'children' when we come to the Lord. A child is very innocent and will trust you completely, and do almost anything you ask. This is the
way we should be in receiving the Lord.
God's Thoughts:
Luke 18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the innocence of the little children. Help us to become more like them, as we place our faith and trust in you completely. . In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
