Preach It, Sister! July 18,
2000 Our Thoughts:
Perhaps the title sounds a little presumptous? Actually, I am referring to a dear friend, who is
having major problems with her counter on her site. Actually, the counter works; it just isn't getting enough hits. I know the feeling; been there,
before! Actually, I am still there. But, she 'preaches' in emails to me, actually preaching to herself. It's hilarious to me at times, although, to her
it's big business - the sickening kind!
We women, who struggle to make our homes liveable, pay homage to the spouse (we probably neglect them too much!), and keep up our web sites
that are dedicated to the Lord, have a hard time with such things as counters, newsletters not getting enough subscribers, and a number of other things that
seem to keep cropping up. We work our fingers to the bone (well, actually, our minds), trying to make our sites the best on the internet. We want people to
be blessed, encouraged, and love them enough, to want to recommend us to others, so they, too, can enjoy what the Lord has so freely given us to share.
We are so wrapped up in our sites, trying to do our best for the Lord, we stop short of asking God to take care of the situation for us. We
realize He does bring those people here, who need what we have to offer. But, we fail to remember, that however it looks to the flesh (man, that flesh really
rises up at times!), God is always on the scene. He won't let us down. Oh, the flesh tries to tell you different - that little imp that sits on your shoulder
needs to know that you aren't listening, that God is the same, yesterday, today and forever, and he's hearing your cry. So, go ahead, sister, and preach it!
God's Thoughts:
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Our Cup:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the promise that you will meet our every need, regardless of how trivial it may seem. Help our mind to accept what you send! You will never leave, nor forsake us, and you never change. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
