Conquer Fear

Our Thoughts:

Fear is one of the most paralyzing and debilitating forces we can encounter. It can sap the strength from us in a second. It can cause our whole world to shut down, simply because we don't understand what's causing these ramifications from our state of fear. Some may be unable to cross a high bridge. I know that fear personally, having approached a high bridge in the state of Arkansas, driving one vehicle in front of my husband, and he was in another. The only thought that got me over that bridge and back over it again, was the fact I thought my husband had a wreck, having disappeared on a two-lane road, out in the middle of no where, and no place to go on the side. What a relief, having come back across that bridge, to meet him at the bottom. He had only a flat tire and had to take time to fix it, but the devil used that fear to almost paralyze me! From that day forward, I never had the fear of bridges.

Some people can't get over their fears that easily. Some live with fear all their life - fear of the unknown, fear of a burglar breaking in your home, fear of losing a loved one, fear of being in a crowd, an elevator, or going up stairs. All of these things can have us in such a state, that we literally take to our beds.

Fear is a stronghold that the devil has over your life. Something in your life has caused this fear, the devil knows about it, and he will use it to terrify you, that is, unless you bring it under subjection to the Lord.

God's Thoughts:

Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Our Cup:

Heavenly Father, help us to bring all our fears to you, so we can overcome satan and his attacks on our life. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
