Hello from Barbara's Entourage
Summer is almost over and school is about to start. In fact, in our area, lots of school systems start this very next week. The kids are excited, and I am sure the parents are relieved!
Moms are 'on the run', looking for school supplies and those new clothes the kids just have to have in order to start school. I remember always having a new outfit to start school in the first day. But, our schools never gave out a list of needed supplies before school started. We looked forward to first day of class, all the mayhem that was included, in order to get back in the flow of things. It was an exciting day! Now, kids walk into school the first day, expecting homework for the next.
Life is on a faster pace than it was when I was a youngster, many years ago. We wake up one morning, and it's already next year! Amazing how time flies, and we don't realize where it has gone.
Hopefully, we are keeping up our spiritual lives the way we supposedly are keeping up with our daily lives. If we falter in our walk with God, then our life is going to be in shambles. Life is made hard, struggles become serious, and depression sets in. So, let us continue to study and mediate on His Word, keeping it in our hearts and minds, so our lives are in line with what the Father would have for us.
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
One of the most common and blameworthy of our sins is taking the good things which have come to us for granted and failing to express our thankfulness to those who have blessed us.

Golden Telephone
A man in Topeka, Kansas, decided to write a book about
churches around the country. He started by flying to
San Francisco, and started working east from there.
Going to a very large church, he began taking
photographs and making notes. He spotted a golden
telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with
a sign which read "$10,000 a minute."
Seeking out the pastor he asked about the phone and
the sign. The pastor answered that this golden phone
is, in fact, a direct line to Heaven and if he pays
the price he can talk directly to God. The man
visited churches in Seattle, Salt Lake, Denver,
Chicago, Milwaukee, Topeka, Tampa and around the
United States, he found more phones, with the same
sign, and the same answer from each pastor.
Finally, he arrived in the lovely mountains of North
Georgia. Upon entering a church, behold, he saw the
usual golden telephone. But THIS time, the sign read
"Calls: 25 cents." Fascinated, he asked to talk to the
pastor. "Reverend, I have been in cities all across
the country and in each church I have found this
golden telephone and have been told it is a direct
line to Heaven and that could talk to God, but, in
the other churches the cost was $10,000 a minute.
Your sign reads 25 cents a call. Why?"
The pastor, smiling benignly, replied, "Son, you're in
the South now, and it's a local call."

"Lean on Me, for I am Meek and Lowly of Heart"
Be Humble
2. Humble Towards Others
Precious counsel, inspired by Christ Himself . I bless you for all the good you have done me!
When first those words found entrance to my heart, they brought with them peace and strength to stand against deception, desertion, discouragement and the resolute will to live a life more devoted to God, more united to Him, more contented and ever pressing onward towards heaven. Once more, I bless you!
Precious counsels, enlighten, guide, and lead me.
