Hello from Barbara's Entourage

Making Choices

Our every day life is filled with choices: when to get up, when to go to bed, what to wear, what to eat, what to do, and more! Every minute of our lives, there are decisions to be made. Some of these decisions are easy to be made, others painful for us. Some add to our comfort, but others bring us agony. But, yet, we still are met with the sometimes burdensome task of making decisions that may turn out to be detrimental to us. It could be a mere inconvenience, or it could be life-threatening. Yet, we are still met with these decisions. There's no escaping them, unless we just refuse to face life and let others make the decisions for us.

Sometimes, spiritually, we make wrong decisions. In fact, if we look long enough, far enough, and listen to others long enough, we may find reasons that seem right to us that keep us from ever obeying our call to God. Perhaps one has watched other Christians and think that life isn't for me. Perhaps those people we are watching isn't living up to the life that we see through scripture that a Christian is to become. Perhaps, to us, they aren't 'spiritual enough,' 'don't dress right', 'don't talk right', 'go to the wrong places' or just 'don't measure up' to our assessed Christian way of living.

The enemy will cloud your thinking! He will give you ever reason not to believe. After all, scripture says the thief has come only to kill, steal and destroy! Look around you at the chaos in our nation. Look at the lives being lost every day to drugs, alcohol, abortion and road rage. Watch the television for the next attack of terrorism. Has it come to your community yet? If we wait long enough, look far enough - it's coming, because the enemy is going to reward us for turning our backs on God.

There's a right choice and a wrong choice that is very much in our control. It means life or death for our soul. You may have not been brought up in a Christian home, but if you've ever heard the gospel preached, or read the Word, then you have a choice to make. You either decide to live for God, or you are in the camp of the devil. There's no middle street - only the straight and narrow path that you must follow. It's not what you wear, how you speak, or where you went to school, or how rich or poor - but how you receive the WORD. God is a loving God and He wants none to perish, but it's our choice. Receive GOD today and live!

Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Turning Back To God

<((< -- <((< -- <(< -- <((< -- <((< -- <((<

The little birds trust God, for they go singing
From northern woods where autumn winds have blown,
With joyous faith their trackless pathway winging
To summer-lands of song, afar, unknown.

Let us go singing, then, and not go sighing;
Since we are sure our times are in His hand,
Why should we weep, and fear, and call it dying?
'Tis only fitting to a Summer-land.

Many people spend their lives trying to create a lasting legacy on earth. They want to be remembered when they're gone. Yet, what ultimately matters most will not be what others say about your life but what GOD says. What people fail to realize is that all achievements are eventually surpassed, records are broken, reputations fade, and tributes are forgotten.

God won't ask the square footage of your house, but He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

God won't ask about the clothes you had in your
closet, but He'll ask how many you helped to clothe.

God won't ask what your highest salary was, but He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

God won't ask what your job title was, but He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.

God won't ask how many friends you had, but He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.

God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived, but
He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

God won't ask about the color of your skin, but He'll ask about the content of your character.

God won't ask why it took you so long to seek Salvation, but He'll lovingly take you to your mansion in heaven, and not to the gates of Hell.

God won't ask how many people you forwarded this too, but He'll ask you were you ashamed to pass it on to your friends.

A word or two from ......

Faith News Network

The man at the center of the battle of the right of government to publicly acknowledge God told those attending a weekend conference in Florida that the nation is on a dangerous and crooked path that must be reversed.

Ah! If I tried to trace back to what first led to that act of sin, the thought that produced the desire, the circumstance that gave else to the thought, I should find something almost imperceptible; perhaps a word with a double entendre I had heard, at which I had smiled; a useless explanation, sought out of mere curiosity; a hasty look, cast I knew not wherefore, and which conscience prompted me to check, a prayer neglected, because it wearied me; work left undone, while I indulged in some day-dream that flitted before my fancy. . . .

A week later the same things occur, but this time more prolonged; the stifled voice of conscience is hushed.

Yet another week . . . Alas! let us stop there; each can complete the sad story for himself and it is easy to draw the practical conclusion.
