Hello from Barbara's Entourage

Saturated With Him!

I know each of you have been caught in a rainstorm and got all wet!! You were saturated with the rain coming down before you could get into a dry place!! You forgot the needed umbrella - after all, 'it isn't going to rain'.......but it did! Human thinking got us WET!! :)

Well, the same happens with our 'Christianity'.... we think we are 'full'..and then something comes our way and we aren't prepared with His Word to share at any given time! This shouldn't be. God has commanded us to daily renew our minds, to have an answer when called upon. The question might be from a secular standpoint, but if you have His Word within you and you let the Holy Spirit lead, he will supply you with the words from the depth of your heart to share.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of you mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

He says in his word to 'study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.'[ II Tim 2:15 ] Some take this lightly, but God wants US, as individuals to study the word, not to rely on someone else to read to us, preach to us, etc. He wants us to get the Word deep within our being - and this only comes by 'hearing the word' with our ears, and spoken by our tongue. So when you 'read'....read aloud to yourself that your ears might hear the word, get it deep within you, and then He will be able to bring it to your remembrance when the need arises. The need may be your own!

Our world is no longer the world it used to be. We are daily being bombarded with things that aren't pleasing to God, and some people approve, and others disapprove. We, as Christians, need to know the truth, in order to answer those that kind of 'go along with the crowd'. God is not pleased and he will NOT be mocked; yet, all we can do is spread His Word, and do what he wants us to do. We can't 'save the nation', but we can spread the gospel to the lost, in hopes that they will 'see' with their eyes the wrongs of the world and become separated from it.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your son, Christ Jesus, that you sent to save us from the world, to forgive us our sins, if only we believe! Help those that read to be able to comprehend what you want them to do in their lives, that they may be FULL of you, "saturated" in their being with your WORD", that they may be able to share the gospel with this hurting world when called upon at any given time. Help us keep you and your word foremost in our hearts and minds, that we will be ready when you call your people, spotless and without wrinkle. We praise you and give you the glory due your name. In Jesus name, we pray. AMEN.

Ephesians 4:That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Irish Pot-Roasted Chicken

Chicken, about 4.5 lb
4 oz Oatmeal
Medium onion, chopped
2 T Butter
3 T Stock
Salt and pepper
6 oz Bacon
3 x Med. onions, sliced
2 lb Potatoes
Seasoned flour
3 T Dripping or oil
4 x Med. carrots, sliced

If there are giblets with the bird, take them out, wash all but the liver (reserve that for another use), and cover with water, add salt and pepper, bring to the boil and simmer for half an hour. Wipe the bird inside and out and remove any lumps of fat from the inside; sprinkle with salt. Mix together the oatmeal, chopped onion, butter or suet, stock, and seasoning, stuff the bird with this mixture and secure well. Heat the dripping or oil and lightly fry the bacon, then chop and put into a casserole. Quickly brown the bird in the same fat and put on top of the bacon. Soften the onion and briefly saute the carrots, then add to the casserole.

Strain the giblet stock and make it up to about 1/2 liter. Heat and pour over the chicken. Cover and cook in a moderate oven (350C) for about an hour.

Meanwhile, cut the potatoes into thick slices and blanch them in boiling water, or steam them for about 5 minutes. Toss them in seasoned flour and add them to the casserole, adding a little more of the giblet stock if needed. Cover with buttered wax paper and continue cooking for another 1/2 hour, taking off the paper for the last few minutes for browning.

Painting The Landscape

Little Bobby was spending the weekend with his grandmother after a particularly trying week in kindergarten.

His grandmother decided to take him to the park on Saturday morning. It had been snowing all night and everything was beautiful.

His grandmother remarked, "doesn't it look like an artist painted this scenery? Did you know God painted this just for you?"

Bobby said, "Yes, God did it and he did it left handed."

This confused his grandmother a bit, and she asked him "What makes you say God did this with his left hand?"

"Well," said Bobby, "we learned at Sunday School last week that Jesus sits on God's right hand."
