Hello from Barbara's Entourage

God's Word Works!

This past week, we have seen things change. What some might have seen has a hopeless case has gone down in history has the greatest election ever. The President, who has been seen as a 'cowboy' in Washington (perhaps 'off the range'), too involved with God in all matters, and unable to speak fluently, just became the President-elect who has received the most popular votes of any other President. I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that putting GOD first in His life, President Bush assured himself of this election. I believe his mandate during the next four years is to continue to do what he does best - consult with God on every decision. I know some people think we are nuts when we say we ask God for guidance. But, looking at the world, as a whole, most of which has forgotten God exists, or, at least, wants to move Him to the back burner, it would seem that we would do good to consult GOD more.

Too many times, we under estimate the power of prayer. Furthermore, we often under estimate the power of the Holy Spirit within our lives. We cut ourselves short, when we think GOD can't work to change any given situation. But, He gives us a choice to put our trust and faith in him, or lean toward the worldly views. Most times, you'll find people are afraid to hold on to their beliefs that GOD is in control, and therefore nullify His ability to work in many ways that He would, were we united in our beliefs. I believe, in this election, the country was mostly united. Enough people voted moral values to over throw the ones who want us to keep GOD out of the mixture of things - keep GOD to ourselves. Well, I have news for these people. You don't put GOD on a shelf, use Him when you 'think' you need him, and believe He is going to bring you through all your problems. It doesn't work that way. We have to let God 'lead, guide, and direct our paths' daily - not whenever we feel like it. He tells us in His Word to 'seek ye first the Kingdom of God and HIS righteousness, and all these things will be added to you'. So, the first thing we need to do, in any situation, is go to God, and listen to Him, then act on the answer. MO Psalms 119:105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Dr. Joseph Parker once said: "If we do not get back to visions, peeps into Heaven, consciousness of the higher glory and the larger life, we shall lose our religion; our altar will become a bare stone, unblessed by visitant from Heaven." Here is the world's need today - men who have seen their Lord.

A word or two from ......

Faith News Network

The hierarchy in the mainstream media and the Democratic Party seem to be falling all over themselves in trying to explain how, on Election Day, "moral values" trumped traditionally important issues like the economy and the war in Iraq. Pro-family and religious leaders could justifiably offer the following response to those surprised by the phenomenon: "We told you so."

Joy, Humor, and Faith on the net!

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.....

All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.

I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.

God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time."
