Hello from Barbara's Entourage!

Some might call it prophetic (an omen, perhaps?) that our New Years started out 'white'......very white from beautiful, clean, falling snow! We started the New Millennium January 1, and down came the first snow fall of the year. The ground was aglow with white, and, when you looked out the windows, 'white' was everywhere. We have had snow on the ground for five days, howbeit, it is now melting. We didn't get a large amount, but enough for our grandkids to go sledding for a couple days.

Snow is only a covering, though, that quickly vanishes. The 'white' might be for a day, or perhaps a week or so, and doesn't 'clean' a thing. The Bible speaks of our sins becoming 'white as snow', and, I am sure, could snow 'wash' you that white, many unbelievers would be washed clean for a time. But, those sins can only become white as snow, by the 'washing of water by the word', which He speaks of in Ephesians 5:26.

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

All In The Way We Look At Things....

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh, yeah!" said the son.
"So what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.
Then his son added, "Thanks, dad, for showing me how poor we are."

Bible Trivia

Psalms 118

Do you know that.......
1) Psalms 118 is the middle chapter of the entire Bible?
2) Before Psalms 118, Psalms 117 is the shortest chapter in the Bible?
3) After Psalms 118, Psalms 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible?
4) That there are 594 chapters each before and following Psalms 118?
5) That if you add up all the chapters except Psalms 118, you get a total of 1188 chapters.
6) And incidentally, 1188 or Psalms 118 verse 8 also happens to be the middle verse of the entire Bible.

The central verse should have a fairly important message don't you think?
"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man."

If you never felt pain, then how would you know that I'm a Healer?
If you never went through difficulties, how would you know that I'm a Deliverer?
If you never had a trial, how could you call yourself an overcomer?
If you never felt sadness, how would you know that I'm a Comforter?
If you never made a mistake, how would you know that I'm forgiving?
If you knew all, how would you know that I will answer your questions?
If you never were in trouble, how would you know that I will come to your rescue?
If you never were broken, then how would know that I can make you whole?
If you never had a problem, how would you know that I can solve them?
If you never had any suffering, then how would you know what Jesus went through?
If you never went through the fire, then how would you become pure?
If I gave you all things, how would you appreciate them?
If I never corrected you, how would you know that I love you?
If you had all power, then how would you learn to depend on me?
If your life was perfect, then what would you need Me for?

A word or two from....

Look at this Weird Theory of Religion, Law and Life
By Bob Slosser

CBN.com - Brethren, this paragraph is the interpretation of tongues. I trust the Speaker is the Lord:

Children, if you are to pray for your enemies, you should know and understand them. If you are to minister in this time, you must be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. I have told you to strong and courageous. Live in the Spirit and you will be so. Slip back to carnality and you will falter. Falter and you may lose, and the loss will be huge. Your main message is that I died for the sins of the world, and the wages of sin is death. But the free ;gift of my Father is eternal life in me. You will be given words to speak as needed.

Our Father Which Art In Heaven

O Jesus! it is Thou Who biddest me say, Father! My Father! Oh how that Name rejoices my heart! My Father! I can no longer feel alone; and whatever may happen to me this day, I feel I am protected, comforted, beloved.

Jesus! let me dwell on the sweetness of those words: My Father! I need not lift my eyes to heaven. Thou art within me, and where Thou dwellest heaven must be.

Yes! heaven is within me! heaven with all its peace and love; and if I keep free from guile this day, my day will be one of heavenly joy, and in addition, the privilege of suffering for Thee.
