Hello from Barbara's Entourage!

Electricity is at a premium now days, especially in California. Prices are higher than they ever have been. Outrageous prices are being paid in order to obtain the electricity needed to run that state; yet blackouts are probably imminent.

Blackouts tend to put a certain part of the population in the 'darkness' for an hour or so a day, in order to more serve the communities with the electrical reserves. This puts the communities at risk for more perils. But, isn't this what satan has intended, in his run to advance his cause?

With God, there is no blackout, no shortage of 'light', for HE is the light of the world. The secular world doesn't see the light of God, but relies on 'their resources' to produce the light. Darkness may come to the city, but, if you have God within your heart, then LIGHT is constantly in your backup resources!

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Come work for the Lord. The work is hard, the hours are long, and the pay is low. But the retirement benefits are out of this world.

Wyoming Basque Potatoes

1 medium-size onion, chopped - 1/2 cup
1 small clove of garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 cup chopped parsley
1/4 cup chopped pimiento
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 envelope instant chicken broth or 1 tsp granulated chicken bouillon
1 cup water
6 medium potatoes (3 pounds)

1 Saute onion and garlic in olive oil until soft in a medium-size skillet; stir in parsley, pimiento, salt, pepper, chicken broth, and water. Remove from heat; reserve.
2 Pare potatoes and thinly slice (you should have about 6 cups). Layer potato slices in the broth in the skillet; heat to boiling; reduce heat; cover. Simmer about 20 minutes, or until tender.
3 Remove potatoes with a slotted spoon to a heated serving dish. Spoon remaining cooking liquid over potatoes.

All I Needed To Know I Learned From Noah And The Ark

1. Don't miss the boat.
2. Try to remember that we're all in the same boat.
3. Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark, you know.
4. Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone might ask you to do something REALLY big.
5. Don't listen to critics, just get on with what has to be done.
6. Build your future on high ground.
7. For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
8. Two heads are better than one.
9. Speed isn't always an advantage; after all, the snails were on board with the cheetahs.
10. When you're stressed, try floating awhile.
11. Remember that the ark was built by amateurs; it was the Titanic that was built by professionals.
12. Remember that woodpeckers inside are a larger threat than storms outside.
13. No matter what the difficulty, trust in the Almighty: There'll be a rainbow at the end of the storm.

There was a gracious lady mailing an old family Bible to her brother in another part of the country. "Is there anything breakable in here?" asked the postal clerk. "Only the Ten Commandments," answered the lady

A word or two from....

Sammy Tippit Ministries

What is victorious christian praying?

Most Christians long for a dynamic and fruitful prayer life. Yet, many find themselves defeated when it comes to their communication with God. If the average church member were to be asked how much time he or she spends in prayer, most would probably be too embarrassed to answer the question. That's not a criticism. Just a statement of fact. Yet, prayer holds the key to developing intimacy with God and consistency in our walk with Him.

Thy Will Be Done In Earth, As It Is In Heaven

Yes, yes! Thy Will be done! Thy sweet all-perfect Will!

What wilt Thou send me today?

Humiliation? Provocation? sufferings? A fresh rending of the heart? A disappointment? Shall I see myself misjudged, falsely suspected, despised? I accept beforehand all that Thou sendest me; and if through weakness I weep, suffer it to be so; if I murmur, check me; if I am vexed, correct me; if hopeless, encourage me.

Yes, yes! Let Thy sweet and holy Will be done!

Even, O Lord, if to glorify Thee, I must be humiliated, suffering, useless, and forsaken, still, Lord, stay not Thine Hand, I am wholly Thine.

By Charlotte M. Yonge - 1880
