Hello from Barbara's Entourage!

It's such a gorgeous day out today. One more day of beautiful sunshine, with just a slight breeze blowing. But, many will never see the light of day again, for whatever cause. The children slain in the Santee shooting will never know what it's like to wake up on a gorgeous day, to see the sunshine, smell the flowers, or hear the birds chirping.

All our days are numbered on earth. In fact, as it's been said, we come here dying. Each day could be the last day, the next breath may not come. We need to make every moment we are allowed on earth the best we can. We should be following after the heart of God, to please him, to do His will for our lives on earth. Then, when that glorious day comes, our homegoing will be beautiful, filled with LIGHT that shines from above. There won't be mourning for what could have been; we will have fulfilled the plan of God for our lives.

Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

2 - 3# ground chuck
2 eggs
1/4 # crushed saltine crackers
Water to moisten
1/4 green pepper
1 medium onion
1 large stalk celery
1 large carrot
1 t. coarse black pepper
1 and 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
4-6 dashes hot pepper sauce

Combine ground beef, eggs, crushed crackers in bowl and add just enough water to slightly moisten the crackers. In a food processor or chopper..combine the onion, pepper, celery and carrot and pulse until fine. Add this and remaining ingredients together and mix well. The mixture will look a little dry..but during the cooking process..the juices of the vegetables will add to this.. Form into loaf or place in large loaf pan. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for at least an hour or until nicely browned. Then turn oven down to 300 and cover lightly with foil and bake another 1 and 1/2 hours until done.. For a little more "zing"..spinkle top with additional hot sauce. They'll come back for more....

My brother said "amen" after grace one night, and one of his children asked what amen meant. Before he or his wife could respond, their five-year-old answered, "It means 'send."

Just Ask Jonah

A Christian businesswoman had to travel a lot for work. Flying made her nervous, so she always took her Bible along with her to read, and it helped relax her. One time she was sitting next to a man, who, when he saw her pull out her Bible, gave a little chuckle and went back to what he was doing.

After awhile he turned to her and asked, "You don't really believe all that stuff in there, do you?"

The woman replied, "Of course I do. It is the Word of God."

He said, "Well, what about that guy that was swallowed by a whale?"

She replied, "Oh, Jonah. Yes I believe that; it is in the Bible."

He asked, "Well, how do you suppose he survived all that time inside the whale?"

The lady said, "I don't really know. I guess when I get to heaven, I will ask him."

"What if he isn't in heaven?" the man asked sarcastically.

The woman replied, "Then you can ask him."

A word or two from....

'How Could This Happen?'
By Lynn Vincent

Another school shooting hit another seemingly All-American city last week, causing some to wonder: How long will we leave children to create their own morality without reference to God?

To be in Christ is redemption,
but for Christ to be in you is sanctification.
To be in Christ is to be fit for heaven,
but for Christ to be in you is to be fit for earth.

Alms given in secret; that is the charity which brings a blessing.

What sweet enjoyment to be able to shed a little happiness around us!

What an easy and agreeable task is that of trying to ender others happy.

FATHER! if I try to please and imitate Thee thus, wilt Thou indeed bless me? Thanks! thanks! be unto Thee.
