Hello from Barbara's Entourage!

Sometimes, there's a language barrier between me and what I truly want to say. Can you say, "Cat got your tongue"? Or perhaps, "devil in the works"? I'm never at a loss for words, but perhaps a loss of what to say at particular times.
I've always wanted to be a fluent speaker or writer. But, at the times I need it most, my words leave me! Could be a blessing, or perhaps a curse! I like to look upon it as a 'momentarily lapse of memory'. I say that because scripture says, 'the memory of the just is blessed.' Proverbs 10:7 I certainly receive that!
So, next time the enemy tries to tell you that you have a bad memory, tell him to get lost, for you are certainly blessed!

EXTRA for THE NEW YEAR

Mother's Pot Roast
Ingredients:
2 1/2 to 3 pound shoulder or sirloin tip roast
1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 medium onion, cut into thin strips
2 bay leaves
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1 Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Place meat in pot with fat side up. Pour tomato sauce over roast. Place onion rings over all. Toss in bay leaves. Cover and cook 1 hour on high.
2 After 1 hour reduce heat to low and cook 6 to 8 more hours. Carefully lift meat out of pot and remove to a warm platter.
3 Pour drippings through strainer into medium sized saucepan and discard material in strainer. Whisk in flour to liquid. Cook, stirring constantly over medium heat until thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper, serve alongside roast.

Old Leaf
A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old ages. Suddenly something fell out of the Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it closely. What he saw was an old leaf that had been pressed in between the pages. "Mamma, look what I found," the boy called out. "What have you got there, dear?" his mother asked. With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered: "I think it's Adam's underwear."

telling the Easter story at a private school. Some students of Miami
County Day School complained that Miami Shores Presbyterian Church pastor
William McNabb said Jews killed Jesus, during a recent school assembly,

Engrave in your memory, and even write down, the counsels and precepts that you hear or read; . . . then, from time to time study this little collection, which you will not prize the less that you have made it all yourself.
Books written by others in time become wearisome to us, but of those we write ourselves,we never tire. And it will be yours, this collection of thoughts chosen because you liked them; counsels you have given yourself; moral receipts you have discovered, and of which, perhaps, you have proved the efficacy.
