Hello from Barbara's Entourage
Ever felt like the enemy was after every thing you tried to do for the Lord? Well, that's sort of how I find myself with the newsletter. Having moved it from Listbot.com, and using another mailer, which proved to be a little problem, I decided to go Topica. Then, I've only had less than 1/3 of my almost 500 subscribers sign up - another problem in moving, since you have to reply to the note they send you, or you aren't subscribed. Plus, I've had one person to tell me that Topica sends out things to which you haven't subscribed, and this I do not like. I will wait and see if anyone else complains for the moment.
In the back of my mind, I know there is a better way to go with this newsletter. I may have to go to a self-owned software, in order to get it sent out quickly, and have no problems in getting people subscribed. But, with anything promising, there always comes problems. And, if it's a work for God, then you definitely will have problems. Just keep me and the newsletter in your prayers, that God's will be done.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Prayer is a cry from the bare spot in our lives, from the empty space, from
the part of us that is missing. It is the wounded part seeking to be healed,
the missing part seeking to be found, the now-dry clay of the sculpture
seeking the hands that first touched it, first caressed it, first loved it.

GREEK LEMON CHICKEN Contributed by Brenda Teague
This chicken recipe is easy, and delicious!
You will need to make a marinade of:
Fresh squeezed lemon juice (About 6 lemons)
Fresh chopped garlic (About 2 tablespoons)
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons oil
2 teaspoons oregano leaves, crushed
Mix all above ingredients together, and place 6 - 8 boneless, skinless
chicken breasts in Zip-Lock bag with marinade. Marinate for at least
four hours. Cook on grill. This is great sliced as a topper for
Greek Salad, or as a main dish. Enjoy!

Nothing so pleases God in connection with our prayer as our praise, and nothing so blesses the man who prays as the praise which he offers. I got a blessing once in China in this connection. I had received bad and sad news from home, and deep shadows had covered my soul. I prayed, but the darkness did not vanish. I summoned myself to endure, but the darkness only deepened. Just then I went to an inland station and saw on the wall of the mission home these words: "Try Thanksgiving." I did, and in a moment every shadow was gone, not to return. Yes, the Psalmist was right, "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord."

'THIS AND THAT' ...
Joy, Humor, and Faith on the net!
|
A little boy opened the big family bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old leaf that had been pressed in between the pages.
"Mama, look what I found", the boy called out.
"What have you got there, dear?"
With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, "I think it's Adam's underwear!"

Watch and Listen
The man whispered, "God, speak to me" and a meadowlark
sang. But, the man did not hear.
So the man yelled "God, speak to me" and the thunder
rolled across the sky. But, the man did not listen.
The man looked around and said, "God, let me see you".
And a star shined brightly. But the man did not notice.
And, the man shouted, "God, show me a miracle", and a
life was born. But, the man did not know.
So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me, God", and
let me know you are here. "Whereupon, God reached
down and touched the man. But, the man brushed the
butterfly away and walked on.
Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged
the way that you expect.

(CHARISMA) -- North Carolina lawmakers approved a bill yesterday that permits public schools to display the Ten Commandments--although the posting of God's laws have repeatedly been struck down by the courts elsewhere.

JESUS
Oh! My child, tell Me of all thy weariness: who has grieved thee? treated the with contempt? wounded thy selflove?
Tell Me all, and thou wilt end by saying, all is forgiven, all forgotten. . . and I, surely I will bless thee! . . .
