NOTE: I've had several emails, worried that I had a possible set back after surgery. I'm happy to report that I'm progressing wonderfully, and probably faster than the doctor tough I might.

TOP OF THE MANTLE
|
Terrorists has become the word of the media. You can hardly turn the television on that you don't hear that word spoken over and over - in reference to the bombings of September 11, or anthrax. At times, I sit with the channel changer, flipping, until I find something besides news!
Something did come over the news the other day that made me smile, though. It was the fact that they announced that it's come to their knowledge that President Bush has been seen with his Bible open on his desk in the Oval office. Then, I heard that he had said God and the Word was how he started off his day, and how he got through them. It's so great to know that we have a President that's unashamed to let the whole world know that he believes in a God will be there whenever he needs him, and he's not beyond praying and seeking him in the Oval office!!
Let's keep praying for our President and holding him up before the Lord. He needs our prayers now more than ever, as he leads the country through this terrible war.

'THIS AND THAT' ...
Joy, Humor, Faith on the Net
A father wanted to read the paper, but was being bothered by his little daughter, Vanessa. Finally, he tore a sheet out of his magazine, on which was printed the map of the world. Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to Vanessa, and said, "Go into the other room and see if you can put this together."
After a few minutes, Vanessa returned and handed him the map correctly fitted together.
The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly.
"Oh," she said, "on the other side of the paper was a picture of Jesus.
When I got Jesus in His place, then the world came out all right."

Booming Pulpit
Waxing eloquent on the dangers of sinning, one dynamic young preacher
boomed to the congregation from the pulpit:
"Brothers and sisters, if there are any among you who have sinned and
are unrepentant, may your tongue cleave to the woof of your mouf!"

SNIPPET FROM THE MANTLE
A word or two from ......
WorldNetDaily

In the middle of an ongoing Palestinian uprising, a radical Arab Muslim leader launches a self-proclaimed jihad holy war that threatens the stability of the entire world. His opening act, carried out by well-trained forces under his direct command, is so violent and audacious that it completely shocks and stuns the international community – including Western security services caught napping on the job.

"GOLD DUST" ON THE MANTLE
|
Prayer is the key to all celestial treasures; by it we penetrate into the midst of all the joy, strength, mercy, and goodness Divine,... we receive our well-being from all around us, as the sponge plunged into the ocean imbibes without an effort the water that surrounds it . . . this joy, strength, mercy, and goodness become our own.
Oh, yes! if you knew how to pray, and loved prayer, how good, useful, fruitful, and meritorious would be your life!
Nothing so elevates the soul as prayer.
