TOP OF THE MANTLE

This week will be Bible Appreciation Week, and it also holds our Thanksgiving Day. It's most appropriate to combine the appreciation for the Bible and giving thanks to God. The Bible is God's Holy Word on which we should base our daily living. It holds the answers to any question you might ask. With a little search and study time each day, we can get the Word down in our hearts, and be ready for anything that comes our way. The Word works - when we put it into practice!

From Around The Web

Sweet Potato Casserole

3 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup melted butter
Topping:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup chopped pecans

Combine first 6 ingredients. Pour into a buttered casserole dish. Mix remaining ingredients together; sprinkle on top of casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.

what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
that you love them very much and
you'll always hold them dear.

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "thank you," or "it's okay".
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

Christians Fear Muslim Backlash
Anti-Christian sentiments in Pakistan run high, culminate in protests and church shooting.

Christians believe they will be targets in a growing Muslim backlash against the United States' war on terrorism. After a September anti-American demonstration in Rawalpindi, a mob dragged members of five Christian families from their homes and beat them. On October 28, 17 protestants were massacred during their Sunday morning church service.
